Weight Of Emptiness
Weight Of Emptiness is a Chilean metal band that cultivates a mixture of styles among which progressive, death, doom and black metal are distinguished. It is made up of Alejandro Ruiz on vocals, Juan Acevedo and Alejandro Bravo on guitars, Mauricio Basso on drums and Mario Urra on bass. The band was born in 2015 when in the town of Buin, near Santiago de Chile, where the first compositions began to be made, and a complete lineup was consolidated, managing to capture the characteristic and avant-garde sound recognized within the Chilean metal scene. and South American.
 
On March 4, 2017, they independently released their first LP called “Anfractuous Moments For Redemption”, which is released independently in digipack format.

As part of the audiovisual support of the debut album, video clips are made for the songs “Behind The Masks”, “The Silence” and “Unbreakable”, as well as a lyric video for the song “Weight Of Emptiness”.

 
As part of the Tour to promote the album, the band performs in several cities in Chile and also carries out its first international tour through several cities in Mexico (October and November 2017). In addition, Argentina is visited for the first time within the framework of the 2018 Lado Salvaje Festival in the city of Mendoza.

“Anfractuous Moments For Redemption” is Nominated for “Best Extreme Metal Album” at the 2018 Escuchar Awards. On the other hand, on March 22, 2018 the album is reissued in Mexico in a co-production by the labels Concreto Records and Sun Empire Productions.

On August 31, 2019, the band releases its second studio album called “Conquering The Deep Cycle” under the Australis Records label and the video clips for the songs “The Flame” and “Chucao”, as well as the lyric video for the song “Invisible Mind Workers”, are transformed into audiovisual material to support the promotion of the album.



 
Weight Of Emptiness
In September 2019, the band went on its first tour of Europe, passing through several cities in Spain, Romania and Bulgaria. Additionally, in November 2019, the band toured Argentina that included Buenos Aires, the La Campana del Infierno festival, and the Criminal Metal Camp festival.

The album "Conquering The Deep Cycle" wins one of the 2021 Escuchar Awards, which honors the best of independent rock and metal music in Chile for the 2019-2020 period, in the category of "Best Extreme Metal Album".

During the second half of 2022, the band carries out its first South American tour in several cities in Argentina, Brazil and Peru.

On March 7, 2023, the third full-length album called “Withered Paradogma” is released, which was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Richard Iturra. It features guest musicians from Chile and Romania and was released under the European label Sliptrick Records. For its promotion, a lyric video for the single “Wolves” and the video clips for the songs “Defrosting” and “Storm Within” are released.

In 2023, Weight Of Emptiness is included as a special guest on the Moonspell tour celebrating its 30th anniversary. The cities where Weight Of Emptiness participates are Buenos Aires in Argentina, Montevideo in Uruguay, and in Brazil Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Limeira, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, ending in Sao Paulo Metal Fest together with Cynic, Beyond Creation, as well as Moonspell.

In addition, during the year 2023 it opens shows in Santiago de Chile for the prominent bands Abbath and Krisun.

During its career the band has had the opportunity to tour in nine countries in America and Europe alongside great bands from the world circuit, which is why it has been highlighted within the Chilean, South American and global metal scene.

The band has been nominated for the 2024 Pulsar Awards for Best Metal Artist for their album Withered Paradogma. During 2024 the band will tour Colombia that includes participation in the Estigma Fest in Bogotá with the Swedes from October Tide among others. He will also participate in the CL.ROCK festival, which promises to be one of the largest in South America.
